Our hand-painted suncatchers are created on 3/16 inch thick beveled glass using brilliantly colored crystalline, frosted and translucent lacquers. This hand-painted diamond-shaped suncatcher measures a generous 9 inches high by 6 inches wide and comes with a ribbon for easy hanging. Here's how to properly hang your Suncatchers and Stained Glass Panels. Many people use suction cups to hang suncatchers in a window, but we do not recommend it. As the temperature of your window warms (especially in direct sunlight), the small amount of air between the suction cup and the window will expand, breaking the seal and causing the suncatcher to fall. Even out of direct sunlight, a suction cup may hold for quite some time but it will eventually give out, and you may lose your beautiful piece to breakage. To hang a suncatcher securely, we recommend using a small cup hook in the wood trim about the window, and hang the suncatcher with fishing line or chain. If you choose to use fishing line, please remember to replace the line annually as the sun's UV light will cause the filament line to become brittle over time and lose its strength. Ideally, we recommend the use of our Chain Kit for hanging both framed stained glass panels and suncatchers. If you follow these simple guidelines you will have many years of enjoyment.
