Did you give your wife a toaster oven, electric blanket or DVD player for Christmas? If you are in the doghouse for not giving your sweetheart a personal Christmas gift, you still have a chance to redeem yourself on February 14.
Valentine's Day is one of the best holidays to show your loved one how much they mean to you. The best way to do this is to give them a personal Valentine gift. I know you are thinking...how do I know what to get? The easiest answer is to get them something that they want! I know that most women give little hints throughout the year. It's a good idea to jot them down and keep the notes in a safe place for Valentine's Day. If you didn't catch their hints, here are some questions to consider:
- What do they like?
- Do they have any new interests?
- What makes them smile?
Here are a few DO NOT’S:
- Anything electronic - anything that plugs in or needs batteries! (Save those for another holiday or birthday!)
- Anything weight loss or exercise related! (Remember that Valentine's Day is the holiday to prove that you love them just the way they are!)
The old standbys, flowers and chocolates will work, but a unique Valentine's Day gift will be more appreciated. Even Homer Simpson understands the benefits of a thoughtful gift and a wonderful compliment!
- For the wine lovers in your life, you should consider dazzling wine-related jewelry. You just can't go wrong with jewelry!
- Do you enjoy sharing a glass of wine together? A gift of wine, a beautiful crystal decanter and wine glass charms would be perfect.
- All wine lovers dream about owning their own vineyard, why not give them a taste? A real or artificial Grape Bonsai tree is a unique gift. (If you don't have a green thumb, I suggest the artificial one!)
- There are few memories that are more cherished than a romantic picnic with that special person. A wine-themed gift basket will help you set the mood.
